Hello, I’m Kay.
I live on Biripi Country, surrounded by birdsong, tall grass, and wind-whipped trees.
I make art. I rescue wildlife.
These two threads— creativity and care — are at the heart of everything I do.

What's behind my work

This site shares only my most recent creative explorations, beginning in 2021— the year I left suburban Sydney and relocated to a large rural property on Biripi Country.

That move shifted everything.

Here, in the hum of the bush and the hush of coastal air, I began again. Not from scratch, but from accumulation — of memory, of movement, of decades spent creating across disciplines.

My work is shaped by a 35-year career in dance and community arts. I’ve always followed instinct, drawn to the intersections of body, land, gesture, and image. Biomorphism and the unseen world have long held my attention. Recently, I’ve been drawn deeper into the lineage of early women artists like Hilma af Klint, Georgiana Houghton, Agnes Pelton, and Emma Kunz — women who trusted their intuition and made visible the invisible.

Spontaneity, intuition, and daily practice guide me. Automatism helps me listen to the quiet voice under the noise. Drawing remains my anchor — but animation, movement, and the act of witnessing (whether through video or the lens) are part of my expanded vocabulary.
